She's still on the small side. But Mindy is making big-time strides as a student at Boston University, where she is now in her second year of graduate school. Her attitude by and large remains, "Hey, I was a preemie
and survived. I can do what I want, and without any fear!"

Mindy also had her mind set on a big future. She is working as an intern for the Mayor of Boston, and is getting some wonderful experience as a singer, performing in her spare time.

During a February 2000 book signing at the Barnes and Noble at Boston University, Mindy joined author Smith to offer additional insight into her transformation from tiny preemie to a young woman with high hopes and ambition.
